Project Overview & Motivation
“In front of my house, a creek flows” is a testament to the ever-shifting nature of Treasure Hill and its residents. The tale is written as a collection of letters from a resident who has forever called it home, to their future generations and beyond.

Design Process—Reference Guideline

Problem ⇒ Solution
This project is based on the question of how can we improve this community, particularly as the older generation becomes less connected while the younger generation may not fully grasp the significance of their heritage.

So, we decided to make a storybook to preserve the community's history for future generations. Aiming to raise awareness about the importance of this place, they might assume it is just a rotten house and unaware of its rich past.
Results
Our project was exhibited at No. 52 at Treasure Hill Artist Village, receiving positive feedback from residents and visitors alike, and eliciting strong engagement from the public. However, our challenge lies in refining the narrative, identifying our target audience, and adjusting the tone accordingly. Additionally, we must ensure the accurate portrayal of residents, as there is potential for future publication
My Contributions & Team
This project is part of the "Design for Social Innovation" class in the fall semester of 2023. The main narrative was written and edited by Rebecca Lin and built upon the rich imaginaries and conceptualizations of Gino Lim-Lopez and Fiona Huang. The book was designed and illustrated by Ryu Wipakorn under the supervision of the course instructor, Assistant Professor Hung-Ying Chen, from the International College of Innovation at NCCU.
